Study Away
Manage off-campus programs with the same level of structure, oversight, and accountability as on-campus instruction. Campus Credit gives institutions one secure workflow to run Study Away programs end-to-end—from application and approvals to conduct, arrival, incidents, and academic credit.
Overview
Campus Credit Study Away is a centralized system for managing off-campus academic programs—from application and approvals to conduct, arrival, and academic credit. It replaces email, PDFs, and spreadsheets with a single institutional record for each student and program.
Every step is structured, auditable, and aligned with institutional policy.

Why It Matters
-
Off-campus programs increase risk without clear documentation and visibility
-
Manual processes break down once students leave campus
-
Academic credit is delayed or disputed when records are incomplete
A structured Study Away workflow protects students and institutions while keeping programs scalable.
The Problem Today

Most Study Away programs run on disconnected tools. Applications, approvals, conduct acknowledgments, and pre-departure requirements are spread across PDFs, emails, and shared drives, owned by different offices with no single source of truth.
Once students leave campus, visibility drops. Arrival, participation, incidents, and academic credit are harder to track—introducing risk for students and liability for institutions.
Supported Study Away Programs
Campus Credit is built to manage the most common and operationally complex domestic Study Away programs end-to-end from application through credit posting, all without workarounds or parallel systems.

Campus Credit’s End-to-End Study Away Workflow
Program Setup & Eligibility
Capture applications, eligibility, and approvals in one place aligned to facility rules, security levels, and college requirements.
Pre-Departure & Arrival Tracking
Track assignments and grades in a lightweight LMS layer so credit is ready to post, even if a student moves facilities or is released.
Applications, Reviews & Approvals
Keep rosters, movement lists, and attendance synced between college and custody, with clear ownership and time-stamped updates.
Academic Credit & Completion
Generate a clean academic record that follows the student into your SIS, onto the transcript, and into reentry advising, instead of staying locked in a paper file.
Conduct, Waivers & Risk Acknowledgment
Give instructors secure access to rosters, syllabi, assignments, and basic tools for tracking progress without open internet or personal devices.
Dashboards & Program Visibility
Give colleges and correctional partners real-time visibility into enrollment, credit earned, completion, and equity trends at the course, facility, and program level.
How Study Away Works
1. Set up programs and requirements
Institutions configure Study Away programs with eligibility rules, application deadlines, required documents, conduct expectations, and approval paths based on program type, destination, or department.
4. Review, approve, and prepare for departure
Applications route through academic, administrative, and program-level reviews. Pre-departure checklists, orientations, and travel confirmations are tracked so staff know who is cleared to go.
2. Configure roles and access
Role-based access is set for study away staff, academic departments, faculty directors, registrars, and student services so each group sees only what they need to review and manage.
5. Track participation and completion
During the program, institutions can document participation, check-ins, and incidents if needed. Proof of completion and academic requirements are collected for credit processing.
3. Students apply and acknowledge expectations
Students complete a guided application, upload required documents, sign conduct agreements and waivers, and complete pre-departure requirements in one structured workflow.
6. Award credit and close the program
Course approvals, learning agreements, and registrar reviews support clean credit posting. Program records are finalized, creating a complete, auditable record for the institution.

Built for Academic Programs, Student Life, and Faculty
Campus Credit Study Away is designed so institutions don’t have to bend existing policies, approvals, or academic standards to fit a generic travel platform.
Colleges & Universites
Study Away, Study Abroad, Student Life, registrars, and academic departments work from one shared system instead of managing applications, approvals, and records across emails and spreadsheets.
Faculty & Program Directors
Faculty leaders can manage applications, review eligibility, track readiness, and confirm completion without building custom processes or relying on ad hoc forms.
Students & Support Offices
Students complete a clear, guided process with defined expectations, while advisors and support offices can see progress, readiness, and outcomes without chasing information.
Works With Your Existing SIS

Campus Credit doesn’t replace your SIS or scheduling tools. It gives you one clean source of truth for dual enrollment applications, approvals, rosters, and grades—then lets you move that data into Banner, Colleague, PeopleSoft, or any SIS your college already uses.
-
SIS-ready exports: Download pre-filtered files by term, course, or high school for fast upload into your SIS.
-
One system of record for workflows: Campus Credit manages approvals, status changes, and instructor updates so your SIS only gets final, accurate data.
-
Room to grow: Colleges can start with simple exports and work with their IT team to build deeper integrations over time using existing ETL tools or APIs.
